General Bipin Rawat and his wife Madhulika Rawat were among the 13 people who died in the military helicopter crash in Tamil Nadu's Coonnor on Wednesday.

Bipin Laxman Singh Rawat was born in Pauri town of Pauri Garhwal district, up to date Uttarakhand state, on sixteen March 1958. His family had been serving inside the Indian Army for multiple generations. His father Laxman Singh Rawat was from the Sainj village of the Pauri Garhwal district and rose to the rank of a commissioned military officer. His mother was from the Uttarkashi district and was the woman of Kishan Singh Parmar, the ex-Member of the overall assembly (MLA) from Uttarkashi.
